This architectural model is literally a box of building bricks. You construct a street frontage from a limited number of components. By varying them you can flexibly take advantage of changing desires and amenities, but that individuality can never be at the expense of the coherence of the streetscape as a whole. This astonishingly straightforward way of working repositions urban renewal from a strong planological point of view that extends beyond the improvement of individual dwellings. The association of the facade elements with classical architecture also indicates the return of monumental forms, which had been pushed to the background during the era of resident consultation.
