Family apartments

Designers: J.P. Kloos

Things could not be permitted to become overly minimal. Prior to the Second World War, architects had tried to keep housing for the lowest income groups as small as possible, but in 1943-1944 J.P. Kloos designed these family apartments where everything is slightly more spacious. After the war, the world would for sure become a better place. Kloos produced the scale model as a member of a study group which focused on industrial production methods for housing. The project was exemplary for the large-scale industrialisation of the construction sector, for which Dutch designers were already formulating the social, organisational and programmatic principles during the war.
