Interior design

Every fashion is succeeded by a subsequent trend. That is not only a commercial truth now, but was also the case in the second half of the 18th century. Viervant allows the future occupant to choose: an interior in the rococo style, which was by then outdated, or an interior in the more fashionable neo-Classical style. In this drawing he presents both possibilities. Lifting up the design for one of the doors reveals the alternative. This meant the stylistic transition turned into a personal choice.
